Methi is a green leafy vegetable and herb known for its slightly bitter, aromatic flavor. The plant has small green trifoliate (three-part) leaves and produces yellow flowers that later form pods containing methi seeds.
In Indian cuisine, both fresh leaves (methi bhaji) and seeds (methi dana) are used — the leaves as a vegetable/herb, and the seeds as a spice.
